Our Journey, Your Journal

I’ve been staring at this post for over 6 hours now.

I don’t know what to say, how to say it

I don’t think I have the right words

I guess I’m scared, anxious, relieved and excited all at once.

It’s hard to explain.

So let me start here.

This is ìrìn àjò, it’s a yoruba word for journey

A word has never felt so apt to me.

For as long as i can remember, i longed to see the world

To go on long and exciting journey’s, walks and adventures

At the same time struggling to figure out my own personal journey, my path

Day in, I questioned my purpose, I searched for it

In books, sermons, I even asked peers

Till one day a friend made me realise that

Maybe our purpose isn’t a destination

But a purposeful journey

That hit home.

I had always used “the search” as a guise to wait

So this year, I started a new journey

Moved back home totally unplanned

It was only right to start this journey too.

Welcome to ìrìn àjò

Reminding us to enjoy every single part of our life’s journey
